Assignment
The decision process of buying a printer is second only to that of buying a computer. With so many makes, models and consumerables available, it leaves most customers completely polarised. Canon was determined to change this experience with the release of its new elegant range of Pixma All-In-One printers. UK based B2B technology agency, Tidal Wave, commissioned Vizualise to develop the configurator.
Interaction
A flashed based knowledge configurator was developed that hooked into Canon’s large product inventory. Though a series of simple questions, users were taken through a process of elimination to determine their matching printer consumerables. The objective of the configurator was to make a mundane and often frustrating task of finding you print cartridge product code exceptionally easy.
Impact
The Canon Pixma Selector was launched in the UK as a campaign microsite to help generate interest and engagement with their new Pixma printer range. While on one level is was a useful tool for consumers to search the product inventory in a more user friendly way, it was also a fully integrated advert to promote a new range of Canon Pixma printers.
