Assignment
Founded in 1906, McKenzie & Willis has grown to become one of the largest retailers of home furnishings in the country. Prior to the February 22nd earthquake, Vizualise was commissioned to develop an ecommerce website that was to compliment it’s High Street retail outlet. After the earthquake devastated their store, it was quickly recognized that their online presence was now a critical channel for connecting to their loyal customers.
Interaction
The website is an online showroom featuring a range of top quality designer products from around the world. Customers can browse the wide catalogue of furniture, make an enquiry about a product, print a detailed spec sheet and share products with friends. The McKenzie and Willis catalogue can be previewed online or they can sign-up to the monthly newsletter that offers design ideas and information on new product lines.
Impact
The website launched with little fanfare two weeks after the retail store closure. Since its launch product and general enquiries have been flooding in at a rate of 60-80 per week. The site has been highly successful in continuing the strong brand presence in the local community. It has allowed McKenzie and Willis to effectively communicate with it’s loyal customer base as it relocates it’s physical store.
